Professionals from ONGC beat IIM-K and ISM-Dhanbad to win BIZETHICS Title

The young ONGC team, comprising of Mr Swapnil Jaikar and Mr Ashish Mishra, shined on stage and walked away with the prize money of US$ 5000 at the Bizethics Competition Final at the 3rd WPC Youth Forum on 2nd November 2010 at New Delhi. Swapnil is a Material Management Officer and Ashish, an Electrical Engineer, with ONGC, Mumbai. These two professionals defeated the student teams from IIM-Kozhikode and ISM-Dhanbad at the finale. >

Indian Oil Scientist wins ‘Mind Odyssey’ Award

In the finals of Mind Odyssey, held during 3rd WPC Youth Forum, S. Saravanan, a young scientist from Indian Oil (R&D) was crowned the undisputed king of innovation and ingenuity and took home prize money of US $ 5000. >

Team HPCL wows Jury and Audience to be crowned Corporate Ranneeti Champions

Team HPCL from Indore swept the Grand Finale of Corporate Ranneeti- Business Simulation Games event, and took home the Mega Cash Prize of US$20000, during the 3rd World Petroleum Council Youth Forum, on 2nd November 2010 at New Delhi. The Finale consisted of a Case Study Analysis and Presentation. The teams were given 3 hours each for preparation of their presentation on the case, and face Q&A from the Jury and Audience. >

Few countries can claim to be self-sufficient in its requirement of hydrocarbons. Even if a nation has an abundance of one form, it is deficient in the other. Natural endowments apart, man-made inputs like technology and services, which are required to monetize hydrocarbon assets, are not equitably resident. Inter-dependence is therefore the key in the hydrocarbon sector. However, though we talk of globalizing the natural resources, national agenda sometimes overwhelms such global issues. >

WPC Youth Forum debates challenges in attracting, retaining talented youth in hydrocarbon industry

The 3rd WPC-Petrotech Youth Forum held on the sidelines of Petrotech-2010 at New Delhi on 2nd November 2010 at Hotel Le Meridian, discussed the Inaugural session theme, ‘Harnessing the potential of youth in nation building’ threadbare. The Forum, being held in India for the first time, looked at aspirations of the youth from the hydrocarbon industry, the challenges in attracting and retaining talent and the overall measures that can be taken to bring the academia and the industry to work at tandem. >

Announcement of Results

The list of Finalists of Off-circuit Events of the 3rd WPC-Petrotech Youth Forum, viz Corporate Ranneeti, Energy Extempore, Bizethics and Mind Odyssey have been declared, after the successful conclusion of the pre-liminary rounds which were conducted online over the last two months. The Finale of all the four events are scheduled to be held during the Youth Forum on 2nd November, 2010 at New Delhi. >

Time Schedule of Corporate Ranneeti announced

The Timeline for the Online Business Simulation Rounds of Corporate Ranneeti have been announced. The Trial Games, which are being conducted for familiarising the teams with the Games format, are scheduled for 9th-11th October 2010. The Trial rounds are only for practice and will not count for the final scores. The Main Games will be played across 5 rounds from 13th to 18th October 2010. For detailed Schedule, click here. >

Business Simulation to debut in New Delhi WPC-Petrotech Youth Forum

The participants of the 3rd WPC-Petrotech Youth Forum at the Indian capital New Delhi have good reasons to cheer. For the first time, the Forum will be introducing Business Simulation Games as part of its Events. The 2nd WPC Youth Forum in Paris in 2009 had Debates and Discussion Forum of the young participants on various energy related issues. To take the engagement of the young minds a step forward, the 3rd WPC-Petrotech Youth Forum is administering the Business Simulation Games for the participants. >
